You might have seen the modern Amsterdam. But do you know how it was in between 1900- 1975. If you want to see those images, check below. I found these images on Amsterdamming.com. I visited many times Amsterdam and I remember some of the street around centraal station. When I see the images of old Amsterdam images, I wanted to go again to all streets showing in the below old images. It's really interesting to know how the city stands for many years defending herself from world wars. That is the pride of historical the city. Every corner of Amsterdam has its own history and pride. Sometimes I feel happy and proud of myself for being here and working in a city that I have studied in my school books. Thanks to God for giving me an opportunity to work in and live near by Amsterdam. Actually I live in another oldest city of Netherlands, i.e Utrecht. I will post images of Utrecht as well when I get time. Until then enjoy the old images of Amsterdam.
The Oude Kerk opened its doors in 1306, thus being the 1st church in Amsterdam. It survived the fire of 1421 and the one in 1452, which makes it the oldest building (still standing) in Amsterdam. Photo dating from 1951:
