After the launch of the Nokia C6, on the second quarter of the year some leaked information revealed that Nokia is about to release its successor in the form of the Nokia C6-01. The Nokia C6-01 is apparently an upgraded version of the C6, a touchscreen phone with a slide-out landscape-oriented keyboard, which is already available in selected countries worldwide. Some information regarding its specifications as well as some images of this unannounced Nokia phone was leaked on the Dutch Nokia website.
Based on the leaked photos and information, the design of the Nokia C6-01 will be almost the same as the C6. However, the C6-01 will feature an 8 MP camera with dual LED flash instead of a 5 MP camera as featured in the C6 and also comes with slight changes in its back panel design. The Nokia C6-01 will be the second Nokia phone to feature the said 8 MP camera, first of which, is the N86 model.
This upcoming mobile phone from Nokia will sport a 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that comes with a resolution of 640×360 pixels resolution and 16 million color supports. It will also come with the Nokia ClearBlack technology, which will provide for an improved outdoor visibility.
This upcoming phone will be running the new Nokia’s Symbian S60 V5 operating system and powered by the ARM 11 processor. Basically, this handset model features the best as far as mobile entertainment and social networking is concern.
Aside from the aforementioned features and its elegant stainless steel and glass-clad enclosure, the Nokia C6-01 also comes with the following specifications:
- Dimension: 103.8 mm x 52.5 mm x 13.9 mm
- Weight: 131 g (including battery)
- Memory: Up to 340 MB internal user memory, support for up to 32 GB microSD memory card
- Video Capture: HD 720p

- Micro USB connector and charging
- USB-on-the-go
- 3.5 mm Nokia AV connector
This new phone also supports WebTV and Ovi Suite and has a music player and FM radio as well, which makes it a truly capable multimedia device.
In addition to that, Nokia strongly believes that the Nokia C6-01’s strongest point will be its social networking and messaging capabilities. In fact, it has made hooking up to a 3G or WiFi network fast and easy so as to allow its users to get live feed from their favorite social networking sites like FaceBook and Twitter.
The Nokia C6-01 seems to follow the same path as that of the original C6 and position itself in the mass-market segment as well. It is expected to be available within the fourth quarter of the year and expected to be offered at a price of 260 Euros excluding taxes and subsidies. So watch out for it.
