The Windows Phone mobile series from the 6.1 version up to the 6.5 has often left a bad taste especially in the light of newer operating systems such as the Android OS. That is why it is not surprising that Microsoft has decided to do away with its previous mobile OS efforts and come out with a completely new Windows Phone 7 OS.
Microsoft has placed strict requirements on the hardware required to run the Windows Phone 7 mobile system. That is why some manufacturers are on the works developing their own mobile phones that will meet the hardware requirement to run the Windows Phone 7 OS. One of these manufacturers is Taiwan-based company, HTC.
A video showing HTC's upcoming Mozart phone running the Windows Phone 7 OS along with some believable specs has surfaced the web just recently. According to the video, the upcoming HTC Mozart will come out with the following specs:
- Powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm QSD 8250
- 512 MB of ROM
- 8 GB storage capacity
- 576 MB of RAM
- Sports a 3.7-inch WVGA Super LCD display
- Comes with an 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with Xenon flash
- Supports Audio DSP with SRS and Dolby Mobile
- A removable LI-PO 1300 mAh battery
- Supports various frequencies such as Dual mode UMTS/HSPA (2100/900) and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
- Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
This upcoming phone from HTC seems to have similarities to the Nexus One in some aspects. There is no information whether this mobile phone will be running HTC Sense, but based on another video that showed up just recently it seems that the HTC Mozart doesn't look like running the HTC Sense UI in it.
Like most of the other Windows Phone 7 devices, the HTC Mozart is still in the final stage of development and rumored to be launched this coming November following the official launch of Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 OS in October. It seems that like other manufacturers, HTC is also targeting those holiday shoppers who are looking for a new mobile device either for their personal use or as a gift to a loved one. However, there is no information yet whether how much this upcoming phone will be offered in the market. So just watch out for more details.
