Mahindra Satyam is keen to win over a number of contracts that Infosys handles for BT
Mahindra Satyam is trying to pitch for vendor contracts that British Telecommunications Plc has signed with Infosys. Mahindra Satyam is keen to win over a number of contracts that Infosys handles for BT. "We are competing aggressively with Infosys for one particular contract, and hope to win it, as we believe we are in a strong position," a senior official said. BT owns 31 percent in Tech Mahindra, the new owner of Mahindra Satyam, which was formerly Satyam Computer Services
When asked if he would be bidding for BT work outsourced to Infosys, Hari T, head-marketing of Mahindra Satyam, said, "We will not miss any opportunity." Sanjay Kalra, a director on the board of Mahindra Satyam and CEO of Tech Mahindra, said BT has access to Satyam's capabilities. "I would want them to move work from other vendors to Satyam, which I understand they would, if they get good pricing and have confidence in Satyam," he said.
"We award contracts purely on the basis of pricing and the vendor's ability to fulfil the terms of the contract. There is no other criterion for awarding contracts," a BT official said.
