Tech Mahindra, the new owner of Satyam Computer Services, has committed to support technology costs of running EMRI's 108 services, which work out to Rs 5 crore annually.
Satyam Computer had provided the technology base for EMRI (Emergency Management Research Institute) since 2005. The expanded board of Satyam, which has Tech Mahindra representatives, visited EMRI recently.
Venkat Changavalli, CEO of EMRI, said a detailed presentation of the operations and management of the 108 emergency services panning nine States was made to the board.
During the bid process for the sale of Satyam's majority stake, the Government-appointed board had put in a clause that the buyer should take care of EMRI's technology support till 2011. EMRI had Satyam's commitment for free technology support.
