MS’ Multi Mice tours the world

MultiPoint means the multiplication in the value of a single PC by adding more mice to the same machine

Microsoft has globalised its 'MultiPoint' technology, the result of a project executed by Microsoft Research India.

One could also argue it was a 'made for India' innovation that the company realised had an application in the rest of the world as well, most certainly in the developing world.

The firm has taken the technology to Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, in Asia Pacific countries. In fact, Microsoft is running a pilot in every APAC country excepting Bangaldesh. MultiPoint has become a conversation point with the ministries of education globally.

Simply put, MultiPoint means the multiplication in the value of a single personal computer (PC) by adding more mice to the same machine. MultiPoint technology, therefore, can provide a separate mouse to each student in a school around a shared PC. The software allows multiple coloured cursors to co-exist on the monitor.
