 IT News     No comments

Eyeing an acquisition of around $200-300 million in the healthcare or lifestyle segments in the geographies like Germany, France and Japan

Infosys Technologies Ltd, the country's second largest software exporter, is eyeing an acquisition of around $200-300 million in the healthcare or lifestyle segments, chief financial officer V Balakrishnan said.

"We are focused on that, we always have some four-five targets at any point of time but the challenge is to do the right acquisition because it's more strategic for us," Balakrishnan said.

Infosys wants to increase its presence in these verticals and expand operations in services within business process outsourcing, infrastructure management, and consulting.  The Bangalore-headquartered company is looking at geographies like Germany, France and Japan for the acquisition, as it wants to capitalise on growth opportunities available in the local markets there.
